How To Get Into The Field
I attended Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration in Ithaca, New York. Studying Hospitality Leadership has truly equipped me with the tools necessary for my life journey and current role. My biggest assets are my interpersonal and effective communication skills, which are critical when you are a relationship builder. I started off my career after college in the retail industry and the skills acquired there have helped me build on my skill set and be more effective and efficient in my current role.

What Do You Really Do?
In my current role no day is the same. Each day presents a different task with the ultimate goal of uplifting and recognizing our future leaders. I send emails, write articles, post on social media, re-create content, develop strategies, edit, and take phone calls. I also have the opportunity to travel often and see new places, while sharing our mission with the world.
Pros/Cons of Your Job
I love my job! This is my second job out of college and I have entered a field I am passionate about. I get to work with our youth and educators to inspire, educate, and serve as a resource in order to make our world a better place. I also get to meet new people everyday and develop amazing relationships.

The Life of a College Grad In Atlanta, Georgia

College Grad Apartment in Atlanta Georgia

What's it Like to Live Here?
I have been able to enjoy Atlanta during the short span of time that I have been here. Atlanta has a big city feel, but on a smaller scale. There are many young professionals from all over the world that come to Atlanta for employment.
There are many wonderful places to eat and things to do. The nightlife is a lot of fun and there is something for everyone. Great warm weather thus far (haven't experienced winter).

How Did I End Up Here?
I grew up in the Bronx, NY, which is where my formative years were spent. I lived in Florida for several years growing up, but left by the age of 9. I attended a Catholic private high school in the Bronx, NY. My family, friends, and environment really shaped me into who I have become. After graduating from Cornell, I moved to Ohio for work. Shortly thereafter, an opportunity presented itself and I was off to Atlanta.
My Set-Up
The cost of living is very affordable. I live in a very nice complex situated in the middle of the city. I currently live in a 1 bedroom apartment with many amenities that give the complex added value.

Closing Advice

The journey thus far has been amazing. The true learning comes once you are thrown into the "real world" and need to fend for yourself. Here are the 7 valuable lessons I have learned to date.
1. Let go and let God.
2. Family is my backbone. Speak with them constantly. They have a lot of wisdom.
3. Be happy. Life is too short to do something you hate. Find time for yourself and create the lifestyle you dream of.
4. Work hard and give 100% to whatever you do because people will notice. Learn as much as you can no matter your circumstance. Knowledge is truly power.
5. Don't let fear get in the way of your success. Take risks because you can with little consequence.
6. Don't let money dictate your happiness.
7. Give back and mentor. Lift as you climb. Pay it forward.
